Stay on your feet and get your confidence back
Staying Steady is a 16 week exercise programme that is aimed at anyone who has two of the following criteria: A fear of falling, poor balance/gait, has fallen, has Osteoporosis/fractures.
The class is 1.5 hours long which consists of an hour of very simple basic exercises followed by a weekly chat on fall related subjects. The results have been amazing, helping people gain confidence and continue to lead independent lives.
The social element is also greatly appreciated by participants.
There is a £1 charge which covers the cost of refreshments.
There are currently eight classes running from Monday to Friday daytime in Southend, Shoebury and Leigh. New classes throughout the Borough of Southend are continuing to be set up.
Should anyone know of anybody that they think can benefit from this service email Suzanne Speirs the Staying Steady Co-ordinator.
