Disability Essex provided advice, support and a place to socialise for disabled people, their families and carers since 1949 but has closed due to financial difficulties.

The Chelmsford Advice Partnership (CAP) is a partnership between four charities in Essex: ecdp, Chelmsford Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), Chelmsford and Colchester YMCA (YMCA) and Age UK Essex. These charities have come together to explore future models of Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG), with a view to transforming the design and delivery of advisory-related services in Chelmsford and beyond and they need your help to complete an online survey about a new product.

ecdp’s 18th AGM took place on 18 November 2015. The event was well-attended and the questions from our Members were excellent (thank you!).

Disability hate crime is a serious offence which can devastate the life of a person living with disability. At ecdp we are working with the Strategic Hate Crime Prevention Partnership in Essex to try and stamp it out for good.

William Snagge, ecdp's director of Policy and Development attended the National Compact Awards on Wednesday evening in London where our work in partnership with Healthwatch Essex was recognised through the 555 mental health project which was shortlisted in the Innovation category.

A POWERLIFTER whose parents were told he would never make a valuable contribution to society will represent Great Britain in the Special Olympics. Daniel McGauley, an ecdp client has his story featured in the Gazette.

ecdp's 18th Annual General Meeting will be held at Ivan Peck House, Ground Floor 1 Russell Way, Chelmsford CM1 3AA on 18 November 2015 at 1.30 pm.

During the week a number of politicians, police services, councils and community organisations will host a variety of hate crime awareness events to encourage as many people to work together in line with the Government’s National Hate Crime Strategy “Challenge it, Report it, Stop it”.
